homework each evening:<\/h3><h3>(National Homework Policy 2018)<\/h3><h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kindergarten<\/span><\/h3><h3>No homework should be assigned although Kindergarten Educators may provide and recommend resources to support families in early learning activities (playing, talking and reading together). It is important to consider that parental involvement increases pupil achievement. Parents can be involved by reading with their children and involving their children in sports and cultural activities.<\/h3><h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Years 1 and 2<\/span><\/h3><h3>At this level reading to and\/or with children on a daily basis increases student achievement. By end of year 2 the amount of homework should not exceed more than 20 minutes per day.<\/h3><h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Year 3<\/span><\/h3><h3>By year 3, the amount of homework should not exceed more than 30 minutes per day.<br \/>\u2003<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Failure to complete homework<\/span><\/h3><h3>Failure to complete homework on a regular basis could result in at least one of the following:<\/h3><h3>\u2022 Letter to parent\/guardian <br \/>\u2022 Parent\/pupil\/teacher meeting <br \/>\u2022 Referral to Assistant Head\/Head of School<\/h3><h3>When a child is sick, homework will be given to the pupil when he\/she returns to school.
