Outdoor Play

Lack of physical activity outside school hours can have a direct impact on the sitting tolerance and attention during lessons of students.

Students are presenting to be very fidgety, dis-regulated and unaware of their stimuli seeking behaviours in class. It is a generation where free time is mostly spent sitting down, playing with tablets, mobiles or play-stations. Despite this is something that children like, the internal energy and the movement required daily by our students is not being met. Hence, students struggle to sit down and focus on the task at hand.

As a result, students struggle to comprehend new concepts explained, lean on furniture in class, ask for several toilet breaks and may also struggle to develop their play skills and interaction skills amongst each other.

It is recommended for parents to find ways how to involve children in active movement outside of school.
